My name is Carolyn Dorr, I graduated from Lakehead University in 2001 with my Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree and the University of Windsor with my Master of Social Work degree in 2011. I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).​

I began my career in 2001 at Family and Children’s Services Niagara where I gained experience in departments including Intake, Children's Services and Adoption. I have extensive experience including but not limited to working with people who have been impacted by trauma and physical and mental health challenges. In 2016 I began working as a Therapist with Family Counselling Centre Niagara after completing training in Narrative Therapy. I also participated in training in Brief and Solution Focused Therapy, Self-Compassion and Mindfulness. In 2017 I completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

I moved to Waterloo in 2018 and I look forward to working with individuals and couples to help them meet their emotional health goals. I focus on my client’s needs, best interests and value the time we share.  I am now offering in person and online services at my new location: Trillium Counselling which is located in Uptown Waterloo.
